Message from across the sea

Another day of lockdown. I recently got some photos sent to me by my cousins from Kerala. It is a picturesque tiny state in the southern most tip of India where there is greenery every where you look at. And they are also under lock down just like us.

The photos they sent are so amazing and made me smile. Of course then I have no choice but to share it with you guys!

The below photo is that of Tilapia raised in a pond in the backyard. You can also see a Mango tree in the backyard with hanging orchids growing from it.

The pond in the background where the Tilapia is raised. It is covered to prevent the birds from stealing the fish :-)

Red Amaranthus.

For those who don't know Red Amaranthus (Amaranthes Cruentes) is an edible leafy vegetable that is usually great stir fried or steamed. Very easy to grow and they self seed in NY. Be careful not to confuse this with other ornamental amaranth verities.
